Blueprints For NPOs In Raising Cash
By Tad Sevensone
Nowadays, many non-profit organizations need fresh ideas in fundraising. Maybe, the reason behind this is that many people today find it hard to give their money – even if it is for a just cause. Many individuals aren’t interested in the old ways on how NPOs can raise money. So how can NPOs raise more money without dulling the interest of the populace? The answer is simple and that is to read further to know how.
If NPOS want to draw more audience for their event, the event has to follow the missions and objectives of the organization. Furthermore, if they have a popular speaker that they could ask to work for free then the event could attract more crowds even if the crowd would have to pay for tickets just to attend the event. When NPOs host events like concerts and shows where they can sell tickets and raise funds, they ask famous actors or famous singers to perform for free.
Auctions are another way to raise funds; NPOs will just have to collect items that they could put on bid on the event. This fundraising event is among the most successful fundraising ideas and it is among the most popular ideas as well. Raising funds via selling goods are still possible but it is better if NPOs have goods that are very similar to the ones sold in a store but are being sold for a cheaper price.
It is important that the fundraising event has enough publicity; make the public know about the event by placing ads on radio, TV and on the Internet. NPOs must provide a few incentives to any amount donated to them by individuals so that more are encouraged to join the cause. Another brilliant idea to encourage more people to donate is to hold a contest with enough publicity to make more people know more about it. Of course, any friendly competition will do such as a baking contest, literary contest or even sports.
However, not every competition is a contest of acquired skills. One competition would be a contest of who can raise the highest amount of funds. There is no contest without a price and the price that goes to the winner must be affordable for the NPO although not too cheap in order not to discourage the competitors. It would be a whole lot better if the prizes were donated by certain companies or individuals.
An event such as bazaars would be perfect for NPOs with enough manpower and time to spare.Different businesses or companies can be invited to join the bazaar and sell their products and services to the public. Of course, each business has to pay an amount to join the bazaar or donate a percentage of their profit because the event is not without a cause. This will not become a problem as long as the event is well organized.
